As seen in the diagram below, Kronos allows any of the participants in the study to communicate with the Kronos System using any of the communication vehicles. Likewise, the Kronos System can communicate with the study participants via any of the communication vehicles. This provides timely communication and early detection of potential problem areas.

Kronos supports communication among the participants using devices from the traditional telephone to the real-time Internet. Any combination of these devices can be used by the different participants. Kronos is the unifying agent, ensuring that all participants enter and receive the information that is critical for a successful study.

Microsoft SQL Server is used to store all study related data. This powerful database engine provides such advanced features as replication, clustering and mirroring. These features along with traditional backups ensure integrity, reliability, accuracy and availability of the data.

A real-time inventory of all study drug, along with just-in-time shipping, provides accurate, cost-saving drug management. All individuals involved with the study drug supply have instant access to the information they need.

Industry standard reporting tools are used to produce the custom reports needed to manage the study. The reports can be delivered via any of the Communication vehicles either on an ad hoc basis or predefined schedule.

Our analysts work with the bio-statistician to create the randomization algorithm that is best suited for the study. The resulting algorithm is extensively tested to ensure it meets the demanding requirements of the bio-statistician.
